Community Data Review Panel
The Community Data Review Panel is the ethical conscience of Kindred Labs. Established under the Kindred Labs Codex, the Panel holds independent authority to review and approve every dataset used in the training and development of KindredAI. Without CDRP approval, no dataset may be used. That authority is not advisory — it is binding.
What the CDRP Does
The Panel reviews training datasets for provenance, consent documentation, representational diversity, and alignment with the Codex doctrine of Empathetic Pluralism. It participates in Codex amendment reviews and holds veto power over datasets that fail to meet the Foundation's ethical standards. A two-thirds vote of the Board of Directors is required to override a CDRP veto — and only under narrowly defined conditions.
Who We're Looking For
The Panel is designed to reflect the full breadth of human experience. We are looking for people who represent communities that have historically been underrepresented or harmed by automated systems — not just researchers or technologists, though those perspectives matter too. What matters most is the ability to evaluate data through the lens of lived experience, critical thinking, and a genuine commitment to fairness.
Members serve one-year renewable terms. Service is voluntary. Members may not hold paid positions at Kindred Labs during their tenure.
The Panel Is Not Yet Seated
Kindred Labs is currently seeking founding members of the CDRP. Founding members will help shape not only the datasets that train KindredAI, but the processes and standards by which future datasets are evaluated. This is a meaningful role with real authority in a governance structure designed to last.
